Protecting Union Contracts in Public and Private Sectors
Anyone who works for a living deserves access to a union. Whether you are on a construction site, work in a school cafeteria, or serve our country as a TSA Agent, working people deserve respect and the ability to provide for their families. Early actions taken by the Trump administration have undermined these protections:
- Stripped collective bargaining rights from over one million federal workers via executive order.
- Terminated TSA's union contract, impacting over 45,000 workers.
- Fired pro-labor officials at the National Labor Relations Board, stalling its ability to enforce worker rights.
- Rolled back requirements for federal contractors to honor existing union agreements when awarded successor contracts.
These changes threaten the foundation of collective bargaining and weaken protections for both public and private sector union workers.
Core Issues
This page will be updated regularly to reflect new developments. IUPAT will continue to advocate for policies that support our members and their families, and to challenge those that undermine the dignity of work in the union trades.
